DORMITORY RULES
Students must follow all school rules during
the entire duration of their scholarship in addition to the following dormitory
rules:
MEAL
·
Students should be
dressed in school uniform for breakfast on weekdays.
Attendance will be taken at breakfast on weekdays.
·
Meals are to be consumed
in the dining room only.
Food/drinks are prohibited in study areas, hallways and lobby areas.
·
Dining room food /
cutlery are not to be taken out.
ROOMS
·
Students will not be
permitted to change their allotted room.
·
Main doors to student
rooms are never to be locked. Each student is expected to keep his or her rooms
tidy. Beds should be made everyday. Daily room checks will be made by dormitory
staff. Those who do not maintain satisfactory standard of cleanliness will be
punished.
·
Students are strictly
prohibited from entering the room of opposite sex.
STUDY
·
Students are required to
be in designated study areas from 19:00-21:40 Sunday-Friday. Students must
attend all extra curricular study sessions and keep quiet during study hours.
Study hours should not be used for non-academically related conversation /
reading. Food and drinks are not permitted in study areas.
** N.B. Students will not be permitted to leave their designated study area
during study hours except in cases of emergency. Parents are discouraged
from calling students during study hours.
SCHEDULE
·
Students must follow all
dormitory schedules unless excused by dormitory staff.
·
Curfew and lights out
are strictly enforced. Students must remain in their rooms after lights out.
·
Absence from / tardiness
to all school related activities is not permitted except for medical reasons
and other emergencies. Dormitory staff should be contacted as soon as possible
in such circumstances.
LEAVE
·
Students must sign-out /
sign-in when leaving / returning to the dormitory for any reason except to go
to school-related activities. Prior permission is required to leave the
dormitory after curfew. Over-night leave is permitted on weekends and holidays
only with permission of the dormitory staff.
GUESTS
·
All visitors must be
reported to the dormitory staff on duty upon arrival. Visitors are permitted at
the dormitory, with approval of the dormitory staff, after school hours and
before curfew. The length of their stay is at the discretion of dormitory
staff.
OTHERS
·
Semi-sexual activities
(kissing, hugging, holding hands) are strictly prohibited.
·
The office is out of
bounds without a specific reason.
·
Shoes are to be kept in
the shoebox.
·
Students are not
permitted to possess any potentially dangerous materials.
·
Caps are not permitted
inside the dormitory.
·
Student must take
responsibilities for all personal valuables.
·
The following is
strictly prohibited in the dormitory:
o
Television
o
Electrical cooking
appliances
o
Non-portable electrical
appliances of any kind
o
Pets
o
All materials prohibited
to minors by Japanese law (Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes... etc)
o
Any potentially
hazardous materials (lighters, candles, Incense... etc)
Any of the following
penalties will be applied if the student does not follow the above rules:

Suspension / expulsion
from the dormitory / program
·
Notice / warning letter
sent to parent
·
Apology letter / report
·
Withdrawal of privileges
·
Assignments of special
duties
** The school does not
endorse / practice physical punishment
