The Department of International Education
offers the following programs for students from outside Japan to study at
Fukuoka Daiichi High School:
TSUZUKI
INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
COURSE DURATION
The course
duration for both of the above programs is as follows:
NORTH AMERICA PROGRAM
September to July of the following year
(homestay during winter/spring vacation)
OCEANIA PROGRAM
April to December of the same year
(homestay during summer vacation)
Due to
immigration procedures, specific program dates for any given year can not be
confirmed until few months prior. All successful applicants will be notified of
their departure details at least two months before they are requested to
travel.
COURSE CURRICULUM
All
students will be enrolled in year 1 or 2 of the International English Course
according to age and their level of Japanese language ability. Core curriculum
for the program consists of approximately 6 x 50 minutes classes 09:00-15:30
M-F Japanese Language, Japanese Culture / History, Physical Education in
addition to 1/2 day Parama (Independent studies) on Saturdays. Other classes
offered will vary each term.

ACCOMMODATION
All students will live in
either the Fukuoka
Daiichi High School Guest House (women only) or Troubador Dormitory (men only),
western style dormitories located approximately 10 minutes walk from the
school. During long holidays, the
school will organize homestay arrangements for all students. On other school holidays, the students
may be permitted to homestay with prior permission of the housemaster. Host families for homestays do not
necessarily speak English and are not expected to make exorbitant
accommodations for the student. Their homes are typically within 1 hour of the
dormitory and the housemaster will be contacted in case of emergencies.
